VETERINARY NURSE – POLOKWANE

Mollie Hawken Animal Clinic at the SPCA, in Polokwane seeks the services of a full-time veterinary nurse to join our team from the 01 February 2020. The post is ideal for a newly qualified veterinary nurse or one with 1-2 years of clinical experience.

Working hours are from:
Monday-Friday:  08:00-17:00
Saturday: 09:00-11:30
Public holidays we are closed but may be required to come in every second weekend if patients are present. Should be able to communicate in both Afrikaans and English. Mainly as a small animal’s practice but will be required to work with some production animals and equines (mainly donkeys and some horses).

Will be required to perform the following services:

  • Anaesthetic Prep
  • Patient monitoring
  • Theatre assistant
  • Euthanasia
  • Administration of medication
  • Vaccinations
  • Stock take and orders
  • Dentals
  • Patient care
  • Client communication and patient updates
  • Removal of stiches
  • Must be able to work with lab equipment (run bloods, urinalysis and microscope work)
