Requirements:

The laboratory work will include diagnostic bacteriology, serology (ELISA), feed analysis (NIR), semen evaluation and administration such as sample receiving, processing, report creation and client communication.

The candidate should be familiar with the above-mentioned methods and must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Prior experience in a SANAS accredited or quality assured laboratory will be advantageous.

Minimum requirements: 2 years’ experience in a veterinary laboratory, National Diploma/B Tech in Veterinary Technology, registered with SAVC.

VETERINARY NURSE – POLOKWANE

The Mollie Hawken Animal Clinic at the SPCA in Polokwane seeks the services of a full-time veterinary nurse to join our team. The post is ideal for a newly qualified veterinary nurse or one with 1-2 years of clinical experience.

Working hours are from:
Monday-Friday:  08:00-17:00

Weekends and public holidays we are closed but may be required to work every second weekend if patients are in hospital. Should be able to communicate in both Afrikaans and English. Mainly as a small animal’s practice but will be required to work with some production animals and equines (mainly donkeys and some horses).

Will be required to perform the following services:

  • Anaesthetic Prep
  • Patient monitoring
  • Theatre assistant
  • Euthanasia
  • Administration of medication
  • Vaccinations
  • Stock take and orders
  • Dentals
  • Patient care
  • Client communication and patient updates
  • Must be able to work with lab equipment (run bloods, urinalysis and microscope work)
