The committee ensures that veterinary facilities upkeep the minimum standards for facilities and conducts routine inspections.  They carefully review and screen the inspectors who conduct the inspections and facilitate the training of inspectors to ensure uniform criteria.

The committee determines standards of training in undergraduate programmes. They focus on new veterinary faculties and foster regional harmonisation in training of all veterinary professions and para-professions. They also oversee the process of bringing new veterinary para-professions on board.
